“My mother had a dance school in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, in the French Basque Country. As she had to prepare her choreographies, we had a lot of records and videos at home. Growing up on the border, I went to clubs like KU and bought vinyl in San Sebastian. I wanted to be an aircraft mechanic until I saw a DJ playing at a birthday party. In 2012 I did a remix that got played a lot on Ibiza Global Radio. I’ve spent the last decade with Nassau Group, playing on their winter tours and mixing on their compilation series. The groove is what sets my sessions apart. DJing is like cooking: you have to play with flavours and spices. I am an organised DJ (I arrive half an hour before my set to get a feel for what to play), and I take an interest in my work; if someone comes up to the booth to show me a track I don’t know on their mobile… I take a photo of the title so I don’t forget it.”
